The old town of Niagara is a well preserved architectural gem surrounded by vineyards and fertile fruit orchards which reflect back to the days when fruit and passengers left the old town by steam boats for Toronto and Buffalo.
The modern visitor will find many activities available including winery tours, bicycle tours, roller blading along the Niagara river, 28 golf courses, tennis, swimming, and horse drawn buggys. Niagara Falls is just 15 miles away and as well its usual attractions boasts a new casino.
The Niagara Parkway which runs alongside the Niagara river for 32 miles between the old town of Niagara and Fort Erie is used by cyclists, joggers, walkers, and motorists alike and is considered by many to be one of the prettiest avenues in Canada.
On the waterfront there are steamboat cruises, and jet boat excursions through the Niagara Whirlpool.
